What a product description cannot tell you
From Atelier Notes, a Club column. About this column ↗
A listing needs dimensions, fabric, colour and a clear photograph. Fair enough.
It probably won't tell you what happened when the first sample was tried on, or why someone changed their mind about a tiny detail.
Those stories belong somewhere else.
A maker's personal profile can show a sketch, a rejected fastening or the version that almost made it into production. It can explain why an object exists.
That's the sort of thing worth following an atelier for. The shop can handle the measurements.
