Before you upload that photograph

Take one more look at the background. A hotel key card. A child's school bag. A house number. Someone who didn't know the photo might be posted. It's easy to focus on the subject and miss the details around it. It's much harder to take a picture back once it's been copied. If another person appears, make sure they're happy with this particular use. If you're unsure, keep the draft private. You can crop the image or choose something less revealing. Sometimes the detail you leave out makes a better photograph anyway.
