Would you want to see the messages?

Imagine your partner tells you they're enjoying a conversation with someone else. They offer to show you the messages. Do you read them? One person might want every detail. Another might want to know only whether anything has changed between them. Neither answer tells you, on its own, whether the relationship is working. The interesting part is what you hope to find, or what you're afraid you'll find. A harder question: would you feel differently if your partner had offered before you asked?
