Playing privately is a complete way to use F-Lab.
You can come here with your partner, play a game, save your progress and leave. No public profile required. No need to explain your relationship or make your preferences searchable.
Club is there if you want to meet people, see the work others share, or take part in a conversation. Being part of F-Lab and being discoverable to strangers are separate choices.
Your profile is yours
You choose whether a personal profile exists. You choose whether it appears in People. A partner link must be accepted by both people, and neither a game invitation nor a shared result should reveal a private relationship.
It's perfectly fine to stay private forever. The games still work as games.
